It Ain't Over!

THERE IS MUCH TO CELEBRATE BUT THERE IS ALSO MUCH TO DO.

Millions upon millions came out to vote. Some of whom had never voted or had not voted in years. They felt their vote did not matter. They felt that no matter who was in office, it would not make a darn bit of difference. Whether that is true or not, you must make a decision to take that chance. You must consider all options.

One looks for perfection, it seems. But only when it pertains to certain people. What appears to be the majority decided that racism, bigotry, hate, misogyny and a host other horrendous ideals was ok. They carried on as if none of these things mattered when it came to the leader of the so called "greatest nation in the world". So, we all suffered for four years, with the threat of four more years of the same chaos, pain, uncertainty, and hate.

Here we are. We have the former VP as president, who road with the first and only African American U.S. president and the first female, first African American, first Indian American and Asian American as VP of the U.S. We are beyond excited and proud, not only for ourselves but for our children who can see what is possible for people that look like them. That is huge and something many would only understand, if they are a person of color.

Now it is time for the real work. The continued work. Not just of the new leaders of the U.S and their administration but for all of us. There are many who will not take their presidential choice losing, lightly. There are those in society who used this presidency to show their true colors and blatant cruelty and sometimes deadly behavior. They will continue. They felt that they had a pass. It does not matter if that is what this past president wanted or intended, that is what WE got and what he failed to acknowledge or try to stop. That is what is beyond belief. That is a major crime and a disregard for life. We will continue to have to deal with this behavior. But we must deal with it, as we need to without fear, without hesitation and be consistent. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to resolve small and larger problems in the upcoming years.

We are all accountable. We must all play a role in our personal and professional lives to make things better where we are. We must educate ourselves and each other. We must develop strategic plans and execute them successfully to change what needs to be eradicated in society. It is not up to one man and one women or one voice. It is up to all of us, as a collective.

It does not matter who you voted for. It does not matter if you did not vote. No matter the result, there is no reason why WE, as PEOPLE, cannot be UNITED. Some of you choose NOT to be about the entire Human Race. There is no justification to trip or act a complete fool on ANY side. We still have everyday challenges to deal with and everything that is still not right, to fight for. We are still in the jaws of a pandemic and the list that is growing longer by the day of injustices. We have things to do with and for our children, families, neighbors, communities, schools, social services, healthcare, local law enforcement...

Humankind must unite. There is no reason not to and every reason to do it. Not someday, today.
